alpine type r July 10, 2010 Bass enthusiast i spent weeks looking for the right subwoofer for my car and the alpine was the best buy for the money.
it is loud it hits all the notes without distortion. i am a VERY picky sound person and the quality of the sound cannot be beat!! i am an official alpine fan! just make sure you have enough power going to the speakers i have had these for two weeks and after breakin them in they sound better then ever don't let anyone talk you out of getting these they are a great buy!
awesomn June 8, 2010 dotrat theres nothing better thann this. I put two of these in my trunk at xmass and they are still pounding. 2 of these an alpine MRP-M1000 and an IDA X 305. I have a capacitor aswell. You need one with this setup.
Amazing Sub!!! May 10, 2010 DL (ohio) i was a bit wary of ordering this sub but i must say it has really been great! i highly recommend these subs to anyone! i am running about 600 watts RMS right now in a ported box and this thing handles notes well on all levels without distortion! def recommend this and will stick with these in the future!!!
Best sub for the best price May 6, 2010 This sub is the best sub you can buy for the price. I recomend them for everyone. Having owned nothing but Alpine, I say you can get a much better deal then the type R series.
Acurate bass but not a spl monster May 6, 2010 Andrew Anderson 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this in a bundle of scosche box alpine 500 and sub (for less than $300 bucks!). After a week the sub sounded better. Box is 1.25 alpine recomends .85. I got it in a tahoe, sound quality is great after the break in. Not as loud as I wanted but it could be the box or size of the tahoe. But to put it short its amazing with the Polk MM speakers I have run by a alpine 300. This sub is built like a tank and is very well made and comes with a trim to cover screws. Its as long as it is wide. I think I'm gonna try the .88cf box amazon sells since alpine recomends .85. For the $ you cant do better I have JLs in my Pick up so I know good sound. Was very suprised since I dont like alpines midranges or tweeters, but their recievers, amps and these subs dont disapoint.
